Limited edition. 100 cans.

The combination of intense, naturally sweet Ethiopian coffee with the subtle aroma of dried lavender creates a flavor with delicate floral notes and a clean, velvety finish. The harmony of coffee's deep profile with lavender's lightness gives the whole a unique, distinctive character.

We never made flavored coffees – they were associated with artificial aromas for us. Here there is no aroma. There is coffee and there is real lavender from a Polish plantation.

Lavender blooms in Poland once a year. We made about 100 cans, and when they are gone, we will revisit the topic at the earliest in a year.

Ground coffee, 370 g in a decorative can with a seal.

Flavor notes

Citrus, caramel, and red berries from the coffee, along with delicate floral notes from the lavender. Clean, velvety finish.

Country of origin

Ethiopia, Sidama/Daye region. The lavender comes from a Polish plantation and blooms here once a year.

Variant

85 SCA (Specialty) points. Contains: dried lavender flower 7 g per 370 g can.

1800-2200 m above sea level. High-altitude cultivation yields denser beans and a more distinct, natural sweetness.

Frequently Asked Questions about Speciality Coffee Ethiopia

How does Ethiopia Yirgacheffe taste?

This is a coffee with intense fruity and floral notes – juicy strawberry, blackcurrant, and delicate citrus fruits dominate. The body is light, the acidity is balanced, and the sweetness is natural. The aftertaste is long and satisfying. It's a completely different experience from classic "bitter coffee" – Ethiopia tastes more like a fruit tea than a traditional strong espresso.

What's the best way to brew Ethiopian Yirgacheffe?

Ethiopian coffee tastes best when brewed using pour-over methods: a dripper (V60), Chemex, or Aeropress. These methods highlight its floral and fruity notes. Use water at 92-96°C, medium grind, and a ratio of 15g per 250ml. It can also be brewed in an espresso machine, but it will be more intense and acidic. We do not recommend using a moka pot—the delicate notes might get lost.

Is Ethiopia suitable for espresso and milk-based coffees?

You can, but it's not its natural environment. Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is light roasted and has distinct acidity – in an espresso, it will be more intense than Brazil. With milk, it loses some of its subtle fruity notes. If you're looking strictly for an espresso and cappuccino coffee, we recommend our Brazil. Ethiopia is best enjoyed as black coffee from a pour-over or Chemex.

How does Ethiopian Yirgacheffe differ from Brazil?

These are two completely different taste worlds. Brazil is mild, nutty, chocolatey—a classic. Ethiopia is fruity, floral, refreshing—an adventure. Brazil is medium roasted and versatile (suitable for any brewing method). Ethiopia is light roasted and tastes best with pour-over methods. If you enjoy discovering new flavors and appreciate complexity, Ethiopia will enchant you.

What does an SCA score of 84.5 mean?

SCA is a coffee quality scale, where 80+ points = specialty coffee. Our Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, with 84.5 points, ranks in the high segment of specialty coffee. This means coffee without defects, with a complex flavor profile, evaluated by certified Q-Graders.

Where does this coffee come from?

From the Yirgacheffe region in southern Ethiopia - one of the most famous coffee regions in the world. The plantations are located at an altitude of 1700-2000 m above sea level. The variety is Mixed Heirloom - natural, wild Arabica varieties that grow exclusively in Ethiopia. We hand-roast the beans in our roastery in Karpacz, in the Karkonosze Mountains.

Is this coffee very acidic?

Ethiopia has a distinct, yet pleasant acidity – not the unpleasant "sourness" you know from cheap coffee. It's more of a refreshing, fruity crispness, similar to citrus juice. If you've never tried light roast coffee from Africa, give it a try – most people are pleasantly surprised. However, if you strongly dislike acidity, our Brazil will be a better choice.

Can I order this coffee as a gift?

Yes! Each package has a wax seal with a magnet – it looks beautiful as a gift. For a larger gift, we recommend our gift sets – Ethiopia is in the Premium Set as ground coffee.
