What is Pai Mu Tan white tea?
Pai Mu Tan (White Peony) is one of the most exquisite teas in the world. Its leaves and buds are hand-picked at the earliest stage of growth and undergo only natural drying – without rolling, fermentation, or roasting. This process allows them to retain a maximum of natural antioxidants. The infusion is light golden, delicate, and practically bitterness-free. In our Rose Journey blend, we have enriched Pai Mu Tan with rose petals, freeze-dried pear, lemon balm leaf, and peach blossom.
How to brew white tea with rose?
Water temperature 70-80°C - do not use boiling water! Boil water and wait 3-4 minutes. Use approximately 2-3g of tea (a level teaspoon) per 200ml. Steep for 2-3 minutes. White tea can be steeped multiple times - the second and third infusions often yield an even better brew. Do not add sugar - you will destroy the subtlety of the flavour.
Does white tea contain caffeine?
Yes, but less than green or black tea. White tea has about 15-30mg of caffeine per cup (for comparison: coffee has 80-120mg). It can be drunk in the afternoon without worrying about disturbing sleep. If you are looking for a completely caffeine-free tea, we recommend our Chocolate Relaxation (rooibos) or Honey Soothe (herbal tea).
Is this tea suitable as a gift?
Yes – our teas are packed in decorative metal tubes with an ornate design and a gold lid, which are beautiful gifts in themselves. For a larger gift, we recommend our gift sets, which combine teas with speciality coffee and honey from the Karkonosze Mountains.
How does "Różana Podróż" differ from regular white tea with rose?
Typical white teas with rose often consist of just Pai Mu Tan with a few rose petals and artificial flavouring. Our Rose Journey is an original blend of natural ingredients: in addition to Pai Mu Tan and rose petals, we have added freeze-dried pear, lemon balm leaf, and peach blossom. No artificial flavours or colourings. Each blend is handcrafted in the spirit of the Karkonosze alchemists' tradition.
