Brazil from the Mantiqueira Mountains is a coffee without sharp edges: nuts and chocolate in the foreground, the sweetness of cane sugar in the background, with almost imperceptible acidity. 84 points on the SCA scale, medium roast, hand-roasted in Karpacz. If you drink coffee from an espresso machine or moka pot, and preferably with milk, this is the coffee for you.

Each package is sealed with a wax seal featuring the image of the Lab Assistant. You can effortlessly peel it off, and inside you'll find a magnet - the seal stays with you on the fridge.

Frequently Asked Questions about Speciality Coffee Brazil

Is this coffee from Brazil very acidic?

No, quite the opposite. Brazilian beans, and especially those from the Montiqueira Mountains farm, are known for their almost imperceptible acidity. If you're looking for the taste of dark chocolate, sweet caramel, and molasses in your coffee, you'll be very satisfied. It's a classic, "warm" flavor profile that practically everyone enjoys.

How should I brew these beans?

Brazil is a very rewarding subject, as it turns out great with virtually any device. We especially recommend it for espresso and automatic machines, as well as for a regular moka pot. If you like French press, you won't be disappointed either. We've described the roast level as medium, making it a happy medium for those who don't care for very light, fruity brews.

Is it suitable for milky coffees?

Absolutely. Because it has a lot of chocolate and caramel notes, it really cuts through the taste of milk beautifully. Whether you drink a classic cappuccino or use plant-based alternatives, this coffee will create a very harmonious pairing with them.

What does it actually mean for coffee to have an 85 SCA score?

It's an industry-standard guarantee of quality. Points are awarded by certified judges who evaluate the beans for defects and richness of aroma. A score of 85 out of 100 is already a very high standard, placing it in the specialty segment. When you buy such coffee, you can be sure that it is a premium product, not mass-produced supermarket coffee.

Where exactly does this coffee come from and where do you roast it?

The beans arrive from the Campo das Vertentes region in Brazil, but we roast them here, in Karpacz. We are an artisan roastery, so the entire process takes place under the watchful eye of our roaster in the heart of the Karkonosze Mountains. This ensures you receive a product that is fresh and has its own unique character.

Can I order pre-ground coffee from you?

Sure, no problem. It's well known that coffee tastes best when ground just before brewing, but if you don't have a grinder at home, we'll do it for you. Just select your brewing method in the product options, and we'll adjust the grind size and send you the ready package.

What grinder do you recommend for this coffee?

For espresso, we recommend a burr grinder, set to a fine grind. For a moka pot — medium-fine. For a pour-over — medium. For a French press — coarse. If you don't have a grinder, order ground coffee from us — we grind it for your brewing method.

How long does coffee stay fresh after opening?

Whole bean coffee in a sealed, valved package retains its flavor for approximately 2-3 months from the roasting date. Once opened, it's best to consume the beans within 3-4 weeks. Ground coffee should be used within 2 weeks. Store tightly sealed, away from light and moisture.

Can I order this coffee as a gift?

Yes! Each pack comes with a handcrafted wax seal with a fridge magnet – it looks beautiful as a gift. For a bigger gift, we recommend our Mini, Classic, or Premium gift sets.
