Frequently Asked Questions
What is honeybush?
Honeybush is a shrub from the legume family, growing in South Africa. It is closely related to rooibos and shares many of its properties — it is naturally caffeine-free, gentle on the stomach, and rich in antioxidants. Its name comes from the natural sweetness of its leaves, reminiscent of honey. In our Honey Soothe blend, honeybush makes up 50% of the ingredients.
Is this tea decaffeinated?
Yes, 100%. Honeybush, chamomile, sideritis, vanilla, and anise – none of the ingredients contain caffeine. You can drink it without restrictions at any time, including in the evening before bed, during pregnancy (after consulting a doctor), and give it to children.
How to brew honeybush tea?
Water temperature 100°C. Steep for 5-8 minutes — herbs need more time to release their full flavor. The longer you steep, the more intense the infusion. It pairs perfectly with a teaspoon of honey — add it to the slightly cooled infusion (below 40°C) to preserve honey's properties.
Why "Ukojenie" [Comfort/Relief]? Does this tea have a relaxing effect?
Honeybush and chamomile are traditionally used as soothing and warming herbs. Vanilla and star anise add a warm, "cozy" aroma. This is not a medicinal tea — but many of our customers drink it in the evening as a calming ritual. It tastes like a warm hug at the end of the day.
Can I have this tea with honey?
Yes, and we highly recommend it! Honey Comfort pairs perfectly with our natural honey from the Karkonosze Mountains – the honey sweetness of the honeybush and real honey create a warm, rich infusion. Add honey to the cooled infusion (below 40°C) to preserve its natural properties.
